Yeah, it's been pissing me off long enough. Time to do it right. Everything is good in the engine still, just need a sleeve and piston and it could roll again but not going there.

Naw, a 6.2 is still .4 smaller than a 402. 400ci is 6.6L so I like that. Imagine a 402 with L92 heads and 90mm intake. Oops, sorry drifted off there for a minute and was having a nice dream.

When the hole developed, all that compression came into the engine block and started pumping the air/oil out the easiest place it could find, the silicone seals on the valve cover, and then poured down the header. Had I realized what was happening I could have probably pulled the oil cap off and let the pressure bleed out there. It sure made a smoky mess going down the highway.

Yeah, everything that is in there now will go into the next engine assembly. I'll have a leftover LS1 shortblock.

Wow, that would be sweet. Thats a lot of engine but out of my financial reality. I'd go buy a 2007 Silverado first.

Here ya go Greg! Looks like the L92 heads are good for 4" bore and larger from what I've read.

LS2 Block #12568950 $995.00
L92 heads and intake $1200.00 or so
You're rotating assembly and a new set of pistons (Forged) and you're ready to race.

Why Use an LS2 Block? More cubic inches with less weight!

When you are ready to get serious with your LS1 engine, SDPC has the parts that you need. The new GM aluminum LS2 6.0L Corvette bare block is the perfect upgrade for any performance engine. The 4.002" bore of the LS2 combined with an increased stroke aftermarket crankshafts can make for a very cost effective large cubic inch engine. Maximum recommended Bore size id 4.020"

What’s the difference between LS1 / LS6 blocks and the new LS2 aluminum block?

• LS2 blocks feature a 4.00" bore, LS1 / LS6 have 3.888"
• Crankshafts, connecting rods, pistons and cylinder heads are interchangeable between LS2 and LS1 / LS6 engines
• LS2 cylinder heads are made from the same castings as the LS6
• LS2 blocks have the knock sensor on the side of the block compared to LS1 or LS6 block that have it in the lifter valley.
• The cam sensor has been moved to the timing cover (requires use of LS2 cam gear)
• LS2 knock sensors send a different signal type and are not interchangeable with LS1 / LS6
• LS1 computer will control LS2 engine, except for the knock sensors.

97 GMC, 2002 LS6.
