Hey everybody,
I'm looking for recomendations on how to get better gas mileage.I only get about 17 mpg/hwy.
MODIFICATIONS: 03 tahoe 5.3 flex
k&n intake w/tornado
dual flowmasters
jet MAF
Jet programmer
Any recomendations would be helpful.I read in the post where somebody got a fifth gear built in the tranny--Anyone know if it helped with gas. How about changing my gearing?(currently stock)
Air the tires up to maximum pressure. Take all the weight you can off the truck, yes that includes the 200 lbs of subwoofers and boxes. Run as narrow of a tire as possible. Slow accelerations help. 3.08:1 gears or higher. Tune the vehicle up and install new plugs and synthetic fluids everywhere. Oh yeah, get a tune from NelsonPerformance for improved fuel mileage.
