Its a pain in the ass linning up the tips so they are perfect. Its hard cause you have to not only line them up with the side of the truck but also with each other and also up and down side to side also how far you ahve the tips rotated. I had mine so that the angle cut part was flush with the side of the truck and also angled where the bottom part of the tip was farther under the truck than top part. I hope your tips are long enough too cause i got some 12" Tips and you could see where they were welded to the exsisting pipe and it looked shitty. I should have gotten some 18"s.

I would get some stainless tips also cause chrome will rust in no time. I know stainless is expensive but you can get out of that if you make friends with someone that works at Meineke. Those tips only cost like 1/10th what they sell them to you for. So make some friends with someone at Meineke and tell them that you will pay them extra if they use their discount to get them. Even if you pay them 20 bucks extra per tip your still comming out ahead especially if you get stainless. Both of my tips cost me 12 bucks for both and Meineke sells them for 56 bucks a piece! Then once you get your tips go to a different muffler shop and get them welded on.

It can also be a pain in the ass clearing your front leaf spring hangar. Make sure they guy that does your exhaust doesnt bend really wierd bends right next to one another to get it to fit cause it will look like shit and not flow as good. Sometimes if they are using a mig welder they will accidently run a piece of the welding wire inbetween the two tubes that they are welding if they are butt welding them and it will arc over and stick out in the inside of the tube. It may not seem like a big deal untill you start your truck and it sounds like you have an exhaust leak cause of the exhaust pulses hitting it.

Also make sure since they are making your truck true duals that they dont make your new crossover head pipe to close to the tranny pan. I always made those bend down a bit before going under the pan and then back up after the pan so a tranny service will be easy.

Make sure they make your crossover head pipe go all the way to the tranny crossmember before it crosses over. If not those idiots will be putting a 90 degree bend right across the middle of your tranny pan! Ive seen that i dont know how many times and it makes it a pain in the ass to service the tranny.

Do not let them use any pre bent shit on your truck either. Tell them to leave that for all those PAW PAW's out there that dont care.

I used to do exhaust where i used to work and i have seen it all man. Kinked pipes, pipes rubbing on spare tires, shocks, frames, brake lines, you name it. When you get it done make sure the tips are firmly mounted and they dont rattle against anything. I will never pay anyone to do my exhaust ever cause i dont trust anyone welding on my truck except maybe Chip Foose, or the dudes at Magnaflow.

Ill see if i can find a way to post a pick of my old exhaust.
