Now for the question, there is an Lt1 for sale locally from a 93 formula. Now I have seen performance magazines and it seems 95% of the aftermarket is for the 94-97 LT1. What is the difference? I know something about the type of intake is different. Is there a way to modify this lt1 to buy the performance parts of the 94-97 lt1&#39;s or are they different engines? [/b]
A couple more details on the areas of difference Red stated above. The 93 PCMs used a removeable EEPROM chip while 94 and later are non-removable. The 93-95 are OBD-I, 96 and later are OBD-II. The 93 and 94 Optispark distributor was not vented, causing moisture buidlup and corrosion problems. This was fixed in 95 and later.

If you are just looking for gains in performance and don&#39;t have to have a "LT4". You can get equivelant (and greater) HP gains with the standard hot rodding upgrades of cam, porting and compression increases.
