Well I finally got tired of my old flowmasters. haha SO I decided to buy some aerochambers. 2.5 inlet 3outlet.I am doing true dual, and its going to exit before the pass rear tire. I cant decide on tips though. I really like VV8's tips, but help me decide. Let me know what you think about the ne set up. Also I just found that Hooker make LT's for my truck. They are going on when I get more money.

hooker lt's would be real nice. i think the two pipes coming out by the pass side tire is a great idea and makes the truck look real sporty. i think im going to go that route when i do the swap. so i say go for it

try and get a sound clip with the aerochamber, and then after you get the hookers on their

hell yeah prob the thing i like most about a ford product haha was they did this to the lightnings, and i think it makes it look kick ass! im gonna try to go duals out both sides, but that will be hard cuz of the gas tank. asked the guy in belton today and he said 300-400 bucks to fab everything up with the mufflers included in that price(magnaflow), all id prob have to do is stick the tips on or just have him do it! also will look sick once i get a body kit on the truck!

I had my exhaust comming out the side before the rear tire till a piece of metal in the road ripped it off. When i had my exhaust like that it sounded pretty damn cool!

You can pull up next to people and blast them with your loud ass exhaust and see them get pissed off! Especially if they are on their cell phone you can drop it into a lower gear and they cant hear shit but your truck! I used to do that all the time to those non driving white collared fags in their BMW's and see how they would try to road rage me.

Also the sound is great in a parking lot where there are several cars with alarms especially if you park next to one. I used to love it when someone would pull into a parking spot next to me when i was about to leave. Then give my truck some gas as i start it right as they got out. You get to watch them jump damn near back in their car!

The sound gets addicting though cause you will hear your exhaust get louder as you get next to something like a car or a highway embankment. You will find yourself rolling down the passenger side window just to hear it.

Draw backs are the sound is a lot louder if you have to ride in the back passenger seat. Another down side is how dirty your tips get. Plus if you get up close to the truck you probably wont even notice the tips. The lightning has ground effects that take away how the body rolls up under the truck letting Ford move the tips out from under that body roll lets you still see the exhaust tips under the truck when your right next to it. In order to make your tips visible when your next to the truck they have to stick out quite a bit making it look like one of those autoparts store special exhaust tips that you just add to the existsing pipe. I was going to redo my exhaust either the same way or out the back pointing down at an angle right before the bumper.

I had my old truck exiting out the back like that and I loved it. it was a pain in the ass to do it the way i did and it took me 4 hours but it was perfect and all the pipes were but welded together. It was never too loud and always sounded good

Good post! So what do you suggest about how far the tips come out? I was actually thinking about that earlier. I got magnaflow slash cut tips and Im going to mount them to where they areangled back to where it looks smoother. I cant wait, it should be on on tuesday.

Its a pain in the ass linning up the tips so they are perfect. Its hard cause you have to not only line them up with the side of the truck but also with each other and also up and down side to side also how far you ahve the tips rotated. I had mine so that the angle cut part was flush with the side of the truck and also angled where the bottom part of the tip was farther under the truck than top part. I hope your tips are long enough too cause i got some 12" Tips and you could see where they were welded to the exsisting pipe and it looked shitty. I should have gotten some 18"s.

I would get some stainless tips also cause chrome will rust in no time. I know stainless is expensive but you can get out of that if you make friends with someone that works at Meineke. Those tips only cost like 1/10th what they sell them to you for. So make some friends with someone at Meineke and tell them that you will pay them extra if they use their discount to get them. Even if you pay them 20 bucks extra per tip your still comming out ahead especially if you get stainless. Both of my tips cost me 12 bucks for both and Meineke sells them for 56 bucks a piece! Then once you get your tips go to a different muffler shop and get them welded on.

It can also be a pain in the ass clearing your front leaf spring hangar. Make sure they guy that does your exhaust doesnt bend really wierd bends right next to one another to get it to fit cause it will look like shit and not flow as good. Sometimes if they are using a mig welder they will accidently run a piece of the welding wire inbetween the two tubes that they are welding if they are butt welding them and it will arc over and stick out in the inside of the tube. It may not seem like a big deal untill you start your truck and it sounds like you have an exhaust leak cause of the exhaust pulses hitting it.

Also make sure since they are making your truck true duals that they dont make your new crossover head pipe to close to the tranny pan. I always made those bend down a bit before going under the pan and then back up after the pan so a tranny service will be easy.

Make sure they make your crossover head pipe go all the way to the tranny crossmember before it crosses over. If not those idiots will be putting a 90 degree bend right across the middle of your tranny pan! Ive seen that i dont know how many times and it makes it a pain in the ass to service the tranny.

Do not let them use any pre bent shit on your truck either. Tell them to leave that for all those PAW PAW's out there that dont care.

I used to do exhaust where i used to work and i have seen it all man. Kinked pipes, pipes rubbing on spare tires, shocks, frames, brake lines, you name it. When you get it done make sure the tips are firmly mounted and they dont rattle against anything. I will never pay anyone to do my exhaust ever cause i dont trust anyone welding on my truck except maybe Chip Foose, or the dudes at Magnaflow.

Ill see if i can find a way to post a pick of my old exhaust.

that looks good. im prob getting a body kit, and ill just have some fiberglasswork done around the pipes(ie lightning). i understand what u mean about seeing the welds, but with a body kit properly molded aroung the tips u wont be able to see anything but the tips, just like the lightning! and ill have a pro install them and if it dont look right they will redo it, until its right.
