Has it ever been cleared up if the '02 or newer trucks ALL come with "corvette" servos already in them? Seemed to be a lot of discussion in some of the threads, but I couldn't find a definite answer.

I'll be doing my torque converter soon and wanted to do some of the easier improvements while the tranny is apart.

Was reading an article that suggested (among other more expensive things):

- The corvette servo
- Transgo Torque Converter Clutch Modulator
- Aluminum forward and 1-2 Accumulator Pistons
- Replace steel check balls w/ composite plastic

?...Thoughts...?

Get superior 1-2 and 3-4 billet servos. Composite check balls, no. Get a new seperator plate for the valve body if you have over 50k on yours. Transgo SK shift kit, yes. Get new aluminum pistons, yes. Pinless or pinned, depending on the condition of your pin in the bore( if it's wallered out, get the pinless pistons). Mod valve? Don't know about that one.

No, all trucks don't have corvette servos.

I think you'll find strong arguments around on not doing 3-4 billet servos.

Transgo, new seperator plates, no composite check balls, vette servo or new sonnex superhold?, and the aluminum accum pistons.

I've got all the above in my trans and it shifts nice and holds really solid. Both servos, all new aluminum pistons, beast sun shell, transgo 4L60-HD2 rev3 shift kit, new seperator plate, stock steel check balls, new upgraded 1-2 and 3-4 shift solenoids, plus all new steels from Raybestos and frictions from BorgWarner.

Why no on the plastic check balls? I know of one top of the line trans builder who uses them.
Just wondering,

Yeah the article I read I BELIEVE said the composite/plastic check balls were recommended by FLT along with those other things I listed. And they said the idea behind the plastic was that they wouldn't push through the plate like the steel. Who knows...

Anyway, I need to keep it fairly inexpensive (ie, no $100 Sonnax servo or anything). Just looking for some inexpensive ways to help the tranny out while the TC is getting installed.
