Well I went out to WRP tonight to the test n tune with my new rear wheels and some Good Year stock car slicks. Although the tires suck I was still able to run a new personal best after learning what the slicks liked. The tires pick up ass loads of rocks(more than drag slicks for some reason) and don't like water. We had to wipe the rocks off of the tires before each burnout, roll through the water(spinning in the water is a no no), and do a hellacious burnout. I ran an 8.54@81.83mph w/1.945 60'. My 60' slowed by almost .05 but my e.t. picked up almost a tenth and picked up by almost 2 mph. I don't think the air was very good cuz our high temp today was like 107* and it was in the upper 80's low 90's when I ran. I guess my next mods will be some e.t. streets and some skinnies up front. Oh yeah my street wheel & tire combo weighs in at a whopping 70 lbs each & the rod lite slick combo weighed in at 41 lbs each.

Good times there. I wish mine was that fast but it is a heavy assed extended cab. My NASCAR tires do the same thing with the rocks. I steer clear of the water box and am not shy about heating up the Goodyears. If they blow, they blow. The heat today had my truck struggling. I've got to get some cold air to the intake somehow. Damn, those street tires are heavy!

The way WRP is set up I can't go around the water box. I pulled my headlight out and used a 14" peice of PVC and a Fernco coupler to extend my intake tube over to the ds headlight to try and get some cooler air in there.

you should be in the 12's in cold weather, with that 1/8 mile time turns you at 13.40 in the 1/4. your so close, keep up the good work.

Thanks. I think its got a little left in it with the mods I've got right now, it's just a matter of getting that power to the ground and getting rid of some more weight (front wheels). With better air I think I could have run a high 8.40.

Great times! That is haulin for 107* heat. I would be very lucky to run those times in that heat.

Thaks again guys. Yeah I weighed it at the dump a while back and it was 4190 with me in it. That's with my tailgate and street wheels. I need to weigh it with the new wheels and no tailgate, but just doing the math I figure it's about 4070 or so.
