Dunno about the STS but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say forget 2wd launches. 4WD, get it staged, drop it to neutral, rev it a little bit while holding the brake, (nets you more braking power), let the revs settle back to idle and put it back in drive. Now stall it until it won't hold it any more. Mash it on the 3rd yellow. This is what nets me my best 60's anyway.
