    You more than likely have 3.42:1.

    2003 Chevrolet Silverado Handling, Ride & Braking Standard Features

    - ABS
    - 3.42:1 axle ratio
    - Four disc brakes including four ventilated discs
    - Electronic brake distribution
    - Immobilizer
    - Fullsize steel rim under body spare wheel
    - Wishbone front suspension with stabilizer bar independent with torsion springs , beam rear suspension rigid with leaf springs

    as far as i know, regular half tons still come with 60Es. the vortec maxx/vho, escalade, SS, denali, H2 have the 65E. the 6.0 HDs have the 80E. the duramax and 8.1 have the allison.

    That Detroit Allison is one hell of a transmission but I don&#39;t think you can do anything with it unless you have a deisel engine. It also has an external controller.

    it&#39;s a superduperheavy duty 5 speed automatic found in 01-05HDs and a 6 speed with tap shift in the 06+. it&#39;s the same brand that&#39;s used in big trucks.

    unless you have an 8.1 or diesel, it&#39;s too much of a power sucker.

    haha i wonder what kind of power it would consume in my 4.3. im sure it wouldnt even fit anyway, but if it did.

    I was on another website and they listed 4L80E transmissions in fullsize Chevy vans with V6s. There&#39;s you an option.

    hahahah yea i saw one of those once. it was like a 94 one ton van with a 4.3. i floored it and kids on tricycles were passing me up.
