Finally, the problem was clogged cats. Actually, the driver side cat. The driver side of the engine was the one that was randomly misfiring and causing the problems. I just don't understand why it took so long. I didn't take the truck to the dealer because I figured my new mechanic was capable of fixing it. If it was the cats, wouldn't that throw a particular code. He played with every possible area. He never told me the codes. I could have looked them up myself. He fixed it and is replacing my plugs and cleaning out the throttle body to clean everything up. Next time I am going to the dealer and let the GM pros do the job. I have been without my truck for a week. With a family of five its been rough juggling kids around. Thanks for all the help.
