Thread: will stock rear end suffice??

    Depends a lot on your tire height, weight and if you think the turbo is in the near future for gears. I would say under 30" 3.73 over 30" 4.10 over 32.5" 4.56. If your truck is real heavy then you will want 4.10s at least. If you think the turbo is in the very near future then keep the 3.73.

    thanks. truck is 4500lbs and the tires are about 26" tall. and yes i plan on getting that turbo soon. so i guess ill keep the 3.73's. will the stock gears be strong enough to handle 500 or so hp? or will i need to get stronger steel for those too?

    I did that and when it finally broke the was no fixing it, had to get an entire rear axle, preventive maint. Is the was to go, plus you don't have to call a tow truck
