Thread: anyone know towing, 5,3 vs. 4.8

    So true, I'm running 3.73 in the front and 4.10 in the rear till I make up my mind, I have very little binding in the front, in the mud you don't know, but I've got the elec 4x4 and the transfer case has clutches to distribute power evenly via the 3 speed sensors

    i cant beleive the 5.3 wouldnt help much..

    ^ WTF are you talking about!!!......I would disconnect my front drive shaft if I were you until "YOU MADE UP YOUR MIND"




    As for the topic at hand, swap some better gears in the truck and get a good tune, headers and CAI will help greatly before you dump more money into another motor. If those mods don't sound like they will help you, install a nice towing cam and gears with a good tune, and have at it

    It's done all the time with mud trucks like he said. Stay off asphalt and it's fine. I would only use 4wd when absolutely needed with different ratios on a daily driver, though.
