You guys didn't have flashing LED's or anything if I remember correctly...y'all just flashed high beam to low beam and made a siren over the intercom.

Wasn't saying you did. The OP has an LED bar that has the flashing on it. Technically ANY flashing or strobe style light, obviously other than what is already factory like a blinker, is illegal to be used on the road.

You do know that they sell strobe kits and flashing lights for civilian vehicles? Specifically for volunteer fireman. It's not illegal as long as it's used in the proper manner.

Negative ghost rider. Those vehicles are authorized vehicles. If you are a volunteer fire fighter or volunteer cop you have a marked vehicle.

Check the statutes in your area. They are illegal to use in any position other than park for an unauthorized vehicle.

Whatever dude. These are people's daily drivers I'm talking about. I have family and friends who are firefighters and volunteers when they are off. None have marked vehicles and do have lights.

Like I said...those are authorized vehicles. Maybe it's different when you live in a small town with a volunteer fire crew.
Check the statutes in your area. Because I can guarantee you that here you can't use them in any position other than park. It's a federal offense to impersonate an officer...which is exactly what you're doing when you pretend to pull people over.

i have them on my truck the reason i installed them is for my type of work, you can have strobe ligths for construction type of work, and they must be in the clear side of the lens on your ligths, I ve had them on in front of of cops and they wont bother you, i anyone knows is ilegal to inpersonate a police officer. and averyone knows u would still use them if u had them.
i have a kit for sale if any interested. whilen I think is the brand i have on mine.
