OK, mind is made up...cam it is...now which one...

Well after all of your posts and Allens helps and Billy's, I've decided to upgrade my cam. I'm more interested in the mid- to top-end than the low end so have decided against a stall converter (for now... ).

I went to LS1sounds.com and listened to some and I'm thinking a 220 or MAYBE a 230. Opinions? This is my daily driver so I need something kind of moderate.

For you that have done similar upgrades, what have your experiences been as far as increase in HP? I think Billy said around 45 (?).

I think I'm going to have to either get a Z06 cam (cheaper than Comp but I believe lower gains, correct?). I may even opt for a used TR (or other) - or a good deal on a new one someone is looking to dump.

Sorry for the long road of haggling and questions to get me to this decision, but I really appreciate everyones help. Thanks!

I think I'd do something close to a TR224. Check out BlueCajun's or VV8's specs. Do your cam once and come back later for more parts. I'd try to do a convertor ASAP to take full advantage of the cam.

Thanks...That's about what I was liking the sound of - something around a 220. I'm pretty naive when it comes to cams, so still looking for more input and doing a lot of reading of old posts (crap, that's giving me an ice-cream headache)...
