Thread: Sleep study. Who's had one?

    Honesty it isn't that you stop breathing. Its just a more relaxed and uncontrolled breathe each time. So short pauses do happen between exhale and inhale.

    I had one done but just to see why i don't sleep.

    I don't know exactly what my breathing is doing but whatever it is isn't normal. It's been this way since I was little. I'm not a drinker really, but will have a beer or two once a month. I do smoke a pack a day, though.

    My dad had one, and they actually found that his heart would stop beating and that's why he wouldn't be able to sleep. He was put on a c-pap breathing machine with oxygen, he has to use it the rest of his life. Are you a welder, or do you do a lot of welding?? My dad was a confined space welder (large holding tanks), he is just now starting to suffer from it 30 years later. If I remember right he stopped breathing 10 times an hour, and his heart would go all crazy then he would start breathing again. He is a non smoker and non drinker.
