    I need a push in the right direction. I am a complete noob but would like to install an ls1 and a 6 spde into an 82 scottsdale. Is this sort of thing even possible?

    Welcome aboard man. Some of the guys have done swaps into that body style trucks. There is a section on swaps similar to what you are looking for with a lot of info.

    Oh yeah, that swap is highly recommended. I think there are two guys on here finishing their's up and one that finished that swap and now has an STSTurbo behind it.

    Wow! I think that will work. The trans tunnel might be a bit small for a 6 speed if your truck is auto now. It could be swaped with a tunnel from a 4x4 and made to work.
