michelins are always overlooked and underestimated IMO. they hook better than most "sport tires" and can go 80,000 miles doing it. in the case of this thread looking for the BEST hooking tire, it will be one of the nitto being it's a 20" wheel. otherwise id recomend the MT et drag radial.

Those Pilot Sport whatever tires I bet are bad ass, No way I'm spending that much $$ on tires. Wife would never approve, and if I did I'd be sleeping in my truck for a year and be cut off probably forever.

Whats the difference? If I remember it was the "fire" tread pattern.

If you know where to look, and what to look for you can get good deals on Michelins. I paid almost the same for this set, with a 65,000 mile warranty, than I did for 2 of those BFG's.

buy one set of tires that last 60-80k miles vs 3 or 4 sets of tires that you have to replace every 20k - 30k miles. you gotta learn how to throw a sales pitch to the wife or grow a pair and tell her to mind her business. i recommend the latter.

I agree, only the miles I drive the cheaper tires will last a very long time (years and years). Even though it's my "DD" I'm retired so I take the kids to school, practice, to the store now and then. I's a 2002 and I just put it's first set of brakes on it a few weeks ago, only b/c I wanted to upgrade to the drilled slotted rotors, pads prob. still had @ min. 2-3 yrs. left.
As for the wife, she stood beside me through 12 yrs. in the Army, and my many deployments and never complained about all the moves, and years away from home. After being WIA she took care of me through all of my surgery's while going to college and caring for our 3 kids and working. She still has to help me b/c of my TBI and puts up with my huge mood swings and everything else that goes with the TBI. In short she is MY hero, And I would never treat her that way. However how other husbands treat their wives is their own buisness and I'm no one to judge.
