    I think he is hitting that responsibility/maturity level where he wants to stabilize his financial situation and would rather save money for important things like a home, nest egg, etc. This truck is still his work truck and is treated as such. It has done a fine job up to now as a dual purpose vehicle, but is hitting his limits. Like many he wants to get a work vehicle and a separate toy that can be more purpose driven towards a toy instead of sometimes having to sacrifice or holding back for works sake.
