    locking gas cap recommendations

Any of you guys have any experience with a good locking gas cap? My girlfriends g6 got caught in a case of sugar in the gas tank vandalism. We think her car got mistaken for someone else's or some kids were bored. We cant think of anyone that would do this. Couldn't put any gas in the tube is packed with it. So figured I ask u guys if you know of a good locking cap. I know the ones from wallets and such are crap. When I worked at the dealership we would have to get them off from trade ins that people forgot to give the key and it didn't take much to get those off.

Man sorry to hear that happend to you. Back when gas was starting to climb I found my gas door open and the cap hanging, I guess some broke a** needed gas. I went immediately to the dealership and picked one up. Probably not the most secure one, but I know I slept a little better at night.

I know I have done that a few times when I worked at the dealership when we didn't have the key. Most of the time I could just put alot of pressure on the cap then twist and it came off. But I really havent found anything other the the usual stant at walmarts and such. I guess we will get one for the time being and that should detour them from trying again.

The insurance is covering it fully for the repair and we found out that it didn't make it to the tank. The way the filler tube is designed it has a 90 degree down from where it enters to a 90 degree turn straight towards the tank with a little bit of a upwards travel for a few inches. So the sugar just packed up and that was it.
