What exactly are you thinking of doing? Are you looking at an e-Rod? Or just trying to get a used LS3? Fit wise there shouldn't be any issues. You'll have computer issues, as I believe there is a difference in reluctor wheels between the '03 4.8 and a newer LS3. Even if yours does have the newer computer, it would definitely need a tune to compensate.

the lingenfelter trg-002 conversion box(58x-24x) is what he could use or change the reluctor wheel/crank trigger and cam timing gear. either way you could still use the pcm thats in the truck now.
Here's all you do:
get the 58x to 24x ling box.
tap sides of block for gen 3 knock sensors, no drilling needed, just tap the holes, of course you'll have to extend the harness.
you'll need a 4bolt to 3bolt throttle body adapter, ebay! unless you're gonna use the stock 90mm, then you'll need the torquerush.com adaptor box
extend the cam sensor wiring.
your truck has a single fuel feed line, simple connect that to the ls3 intake rail.
injector clips are different, so cut your old ones off and give us a call for some ls3 injector clips; forget the truck adaptors, they suck, imo.
you'll need a tune, the stock injectors are over 40lb'ers, it'll foul the plugs if you start it with no tune.
just to be clear, you'll use the stock truck harness and pcm.
good luck,
allen
everything else is just basically installing the engine.
