Deep fried strawberries and Ice cream.(we have no cooking section)

Me and some friends were discussing all the stuff they fry at the Texas state fair and I asked if they had every seen deep fried strawberries. No one had so I had to give it a go.

    Its very simple
6 fresh strawberries cut in halfs
    Pioneer pancake mix
    Vanilla extract
    Deep frier with peanut oil.

Mix your pancake mix a little on the dry side. I replaced the water for whole milk and added 1tbl spoon of Mexican vanilla.

Coat strawberries in batter mix completely.

Have frier at 350º. Drop berries into oil and let them cook till golded brown. Toss them in a bowl with some Blue Bell homemade vanilla ice cream top with whip cream and some of the batter crumbles.
    DAMN ITS GOOD.

I wish you would have posted this about a month earlier, I have a 40x40 strawberry patch In my backyard and we were finding I difficult to find that many ways to get rid of the strawberries.

On a side note I deep-fry a lot of my vegetables out of the garden, green beans, summer squash, zucchini. Thanks for posting, I will have to try this!!

Just found a place here called Fair Food(s), its a resturaunt I guess. They have nothing but what's sold at fairs around the country like Indian Tacos, the cinnamon buns, and fried everything. Had the wife grab some strawberries for tomorrow though!

Sounds like it would be a good treat. I've heard of deep fried twinks, snickers, butter (yes butter)
