That must be with instal? Even then it's high. I bet Ron's would run $500ish and install from a reputable shop less than $500 labor.

I have a feeling new tires are in your future and believe me the old quote about them being like rubbers is right on the money.

The quote from Ron's was $685 including the TT, Motive 3.90, and the master kit. The other quote was from Pyle Bros and included install, they didn't say what brand the gears were.

The value trac would be good on your truck and cost around 500 like stated.

dont buy Yukon or Richmond gears whatever you do, unless you wanna listen to them whine. yes i know Motive and Richmond are the same now, but they are still making them on their own separate machines.

an Eaton posi, g2 gears, install kit, oil and labor runs about 1100-1200 at the shop.. if Rons quoted 685 for all that, you should have about 950 total in it, installed.

I'm going to talk to the guy at my muffler shop and see if he can do gears, he said he does about everything and he stands behind his work.

I have had Yukon gears for over 40,000 miles now and I have never heard them whine one bit.. I beat the ever living hell out of my truck too.

you're very lucky. us along with a couple other shops in town have all quit using yukon gears for the fact that 4 out of 5 sets whine. pull them out, swap in motives or g2s with the same shimming, and quiet as factory. after i had to replace 5 sets with less than 10 miles on them, i refuse to install them.
