To gain weight and put on size Id do legs about twice a week! Change up how your doing your leg workouts...do squats one day and make sure you do lunges the next. You need more than 2500 calories if you doing any sort of cardio. Your burning more than you are taking in. If your getting full on what your eating now you'll prob have a hard time gaining. Two protein shakes for snacks/meal replacements would help get your calorie intake up, on top of eating about 2500 calories. Eat about every 2.5 hrs just before your stomach starts to growl.

For cardio, usually after my work out I will either jog, run on the treadmill, or do the stair stepper for an hour. But yea i work out ever muscle group I possible can. But it's spread out through out the week. Monday is chest and triceps. Tuesday is legs and back then on wed i do biceps and foreams thurs is just cardio an abs then fri i start all over again. And as far as gaining weight, back in the day I took that cell tech crap it made me gain weight like crazy! Here is my current diet-
Meal one- 5oz lean read meat, 2/3 cup oats, 8 egg whites
Meal two- 2 scoops protein powder, 10 raw almonds
Meal three- 10oz chicken, 2 cups of greens
    Meal four- another protein shake
Meal five- 10oz of any lean meat, and a salad

2500 is barely enough to sustain an adult male. You need to put down closer to 3500 to gain anything. When I am training I try to put down 5k+, but I am a freak when it comes to eating ask travis(bangbangskeetskeet) lol

As a female member of the LS1 truck club, I can honestly say you look veeeeery NICE!!!

Anyways back to topic, a group of people I work with were all doing the insanity workout. So I decided to do it with them, I am 30 years old 5' 7" was 170lbs. chunky but not huge. I did the Insanity thing for a year straight, and I lost 50lbs, now I'm down to 120lbs. which I'm happy with. I also took on a vegetarian way of life, basically mine was a lifestyle change. I was a chronic drinker non smoker, but very lazy and bad eater (10,000+ calories a day) Now I stay on a 1,200 calorie diet, and I feel like I eat more now then I did back then...

Good luck with your competition, I admire your dedication to be a better person. It's not so much physical as It is mental.

3500 calories won't be enough to build muscle for him. Plus he needs probably an extra 40+g of protein to build muscle so he's looking at just plain diet of well over 5500calories. Loosing weight is really easy, however gaing muscle mass is one of the most difficult things to do.

I could go so far into what you need to do if you want to get more muscle, but I'm not doing that for free .
I helped out a member( MidewestSS) loose about 45lbs just by adjusting his diet.

Zach if you want some tips or anything like that send me a pm.
