    85 crew cab 5.3 or 6.0 swap

Hey guys I recently sold my 08 crew cab to buy a newer one but just found a pretty good deal on a 85 crew cab that has no engine or tranny. I would like to put a 6.0 with maybe a 400 tranny! Is this a fairly easy swap? And can Nelson do the wiring?

Yes, and yes. I'd strongly recommend a 4l80e or 6l80e trans instead though.

Yes I would like to have overdrive thought may be hassle to wire?! I'm not to good at fabricating so do they make kits for motor/tranny mounts?

Wiring would be easier for the motor designed for the engine... you can basically drop the whole thing in and plug it in using a modified factory harness.

The aftermarket harness can be built with the plugs for the 80e

Unless you never leave the city, you want the O/D,and you definitely need the torque of the 6.0 in that heavy truck.Any reasonably experienced hot rodder mechanic can easily handle this swap, all the info is here and a few other sites and the parts are readily available. Now crack open that wallet(it better be full of $100's) and get to work!

Have a good 5.3 with ederbrock kit on it. With new carb, new headers ready to run. 700r4 hooked to it with 80s chevy mounts for a good deal. Sitting in a 82 crewcab 4x4
