    yea thats what Im going to do. I just did a little logging and found out I had the stock IAT timing table. I was only working with 11 degrees. We changed that table up a bit and ran it at 13psi, 14.5 degrees and it feels really good. IAT's only got up to 108 degrees and ambient is 88. Had like 1 or 2 counts of knock so I dropped it down to 11psi for the street. I guess Ill keep it 13 or lower without the meth kit. What kit should I go with? I hear Alky Control is the best.

    i prefer Julio's products [alky control]

    something else to consider.....static compression will play a role on timing, chamber size, how much overlap a cam has, overall motor temp and etc.
    a small cam which has none to neg amount of overlap wont take as much timing as something that has a good bit of overlap
    restrictions Post turbo will also effect timing

    what i run in my 53 wont necessary work safely in your 53, as Jon said learn to understand what your motor is calling for. It will shock you on what it really likes vs what others talk about.

    a heads up for your meth tuning......get your AFR set with modest timing [enough timing where it shows up on the strap yet but not enough were your dangerous, remember too low timing will melt shit down as well. EGTs are high cause of low timing] then figure out amount of meth you would like to add into the equation.

    example.......12psi here no meth 15* i shoot for 11.55 AFR [+/- .15] now for a modest tune with meth on 12psi ill shoot for 11.2 [+/- .15] with 18.5* then you can have a track tune were it at 12psi with a AFR of 10.8 [+/- .15] you can run the rule of .5* per psi, this will net you around 22-24*. when doing things like this make sure your IAT deduction table is aggressive in pulling timing you will not want a high IAT with this kind of tune up, you will also not want a high ECT either. Now there are adders in the software where if you do hit your set point of IAT or ECT you can have the computer add fuel to the tune to save grace.

    with ^^^^ this being said if for some reason the meth fails then youll tune will be back were it once was, since youre additional fuel was added by the meth and nothing really pulled from the Ve table. Do NOT pull fuel from the VE table and lean out AFR to desired AFR when spraying meth...if meth fails you run a chance of running extremely lean and the pcm can only act so fast by the time it does react your motor already seen the event. Doing it this way will also help if youre pedaling for traction as if you are on and off the throttle the meth pump cant supply the fuel consistent enough were the AFR would be correct thats why you should not remove fuel from the VE table.

    great info!! Thanks George!! This info will be vital when I get the meth kit. Ill call Julio when Im ready. What would be a good ballpark figure for a good kit from him? Im thinking $700

    depends on what you all need, as he sells you a map sensor if needed.

    recently bought a 2 nozzle kit with a 3 gallon cell and extra lenght of line for a car kit and it was right at 700, i believe in 08 i paid high 500s for my kit. safe to say 600 is about right and he only recomends M1 meth to be ran thru his pumps
