    5.7 or 5.3 senors?

    Ive got a 5.7 from a 2000 trans am. its been stripped of everything (seen here) http://www.ls1truck.com/forums/lsx-t...6-obs-4wd.html

    Ive pulled the ecu intake TB injectors and fuel rail from 5.3. With the 5.3 ecu should i be using all the involved sensors for the 5.3 or for the 5.7?



    I havnt started to cross reference part numbers to see if any or all are the same. I know the IAT is integrated in the MAF for the 5.3 so ill be needing to pick up on of those.

    i learned quickly working with VW's that 2 sensors may look identical but operate in a different voltage range, and if mixed up can appear to operate properly when troubleshooted but is sending all the wrong signals to the ecu.

    Just a couple of things to consider.
    The accessories use a different offset between truck and ls1.
    The hanress is different to don't mix the PCM and hanress without repinning the two sensors that are different.
    All the sensors are the same and interchange or will at least work and use the same signal and reference between a gen3 truck and ls1. ('98ls1) has a couple thigs different FYI.

    So go ahead and use what sensors u need from either.

    Thanks for the reply.

    Im using all the accessories from the 5.3. Only thing i have left to pick up "as far as i know" is a crank pulley from a truck
    ive already pulled the ecu and the engine harness from the same tahoe.
    ran out of time so ill grab fuse block when i go back, anything else i need from that cluster of wiring?

    robbing some of the sensors from the parts truck with save $ on odds and ends to getting the engine complete on a stand to where i can plug the harness all in and label everything.
