im going to go to baton rouge and get a dyno tune on my trinity soon as i get all the bolt ons on, I talked to the guys at nelson, They sound like the know what they are talking bout and soon as I find me a single cab Ill bring it to them, My Z-71 is an every day driver. I Drive it 500 miles every week to work. Im just trin to pep it up a lil. so its not a punk at the red light. Its easy to drop in a 6.0, cam, tune, shift kit, and stall and run 12s or 11s, im looking for power with MPG behind it, I know you have to pay to play, trust me iv been threw Three rear ends. And If you don't have a trinity don't down it, its no punk, Iv got pics of my last rear end that was shattered, and so you know, My 7000lbs truck, (Its been on the scale) 300HP will run side by side with a 2011 5.0 F-150, which is 360HP. With a DIABLO tune. I wanna see some of you guys with stock 5.3s do that evan in a 3000lbs truck. But for those who was helping with suggestions that made sence thank you for your advise its well noted

A Z71 will run around 5k in weight, before i switched to AWD the 2wd frame and body was race stripped and still weighed in at 4170 with me in it, so 3k isnt close, you ll find some good info on here, but we're here to tell you no matter what handheld you own it doesnt compare to a custom tune. obviously yourer gonna keep it and thats your choice but we're just trying to give you solid info. why else would we spend all the money we do for tunes if we could just buy a handheld.

I understand the diff between a handheld and a custom tune, I got the trinity because I use my truck for many diff things, I can get tunes for what ever I need them for, Custom tunes I should say, and when Im done with what im doing I can change it back to what I need it for, and I like the fact that I can monitor everything my truck does, I can do my own data logging and see what my trucks doing. Im not sayin anybody here doesnt know what there talking about, I spent a lot of money for my programmer for good reason, It would been cheeper to get a dyno tune, but not when I need to change to towing, or hp tune, or 87 tune or what ever threw out the week. The guys at diablo sport have a dyno, thats where they got the preset tunes for my truck. I can drive two hours from my house dyno my truck save the new tune in my programmer and change to and from it when i want. for free, and not have to keep going back to a shop every time I need a diff tune. If all i did was race my truck id do a nelson tune no questions asked. as far as the waight on my truck it is 7000 pounds I can show you the DOT slip (BOTLFED). Im running pro comp 33s, pro comp wheels, there not light. warn winch, warn brush guard, (for those who dont know you cant buy a winch bumper over the counter for a silverado on 99 to 02....my trucks a 2000 figure that one out lol) A ton of audio, and many bolt ons. Theres not a single part on my truck that has not been replaced for better I promise you that, Iv got 2 grand sittin in the rear axle, u can call twisted off road and verify that, rebuilt transfer case, new motor, new front end, slotted brakes, steel drive line, have a new trans getting reworked next month in case the factory goes. money isnt the object. My truck is my toy, and my ride to work, has to be street-able for long trips, but powerful enough to play at the strip. Thats my goal. I love my truck and wouldn sell it for anything, and now that iv got all the GM weak links gone im not sure I could find a better truck. Im goin to go threw the list above, and reserch wats there compared to other brands, I was going to order the pace setter ceramic coated long tubes next week end, but im going to check out wat you guys told me first.

To the credit of those who called you out on the weight of your truck you never mentioned any of the huge weight adders you had made(winch, wheels, etc). As for the tuning issue you are right the trinity can be a decent choice when used to load custom tunes. As for parts on your truck that you have added to better your truck....... Please go back to the list I made for you.

Welcome to the site and hope you are different than the 99% who come in with the same attitude as you are displaying. Most won't last 3 months. Also I put money on the fact that there are still a few "gm weak links" left in your truck.

i wasnt arguing your trucks weight, i was stating you wont find a full size truck that weighs 3k. If you spent so much money on that handheld, why didnt you just buy hp tuners and tune it yourself???

Im driving the same rig as you with the mods in my sig and got 18.6 mpg today. With the tune and bolt ons it will make the truck more efficent. These guys know what their talking about I listened and its gotten me a really strong running truck. Im pushing close to 6200lbs with my truck fully loaded with my tools.
