The oil pan paint is a Duplicolor engine paint called Cast Coat Aluminum. I plan to paint the entire block, heads, valley cover, and alternator with it. The timing cover paint is a Cast Iron color header/manifold paint. I paln to use it on the accessory brackets, water pump, valve covers, intake, and air cleaner. Everything else including bolts, will be painted a matte black.Originally Posted by TRPLXL2
Progress!! I was getting some floor work done on our house, so I took a vacation day yesterday. I don't really like bugging people or getting in their way when they're working, so I worked in the garage.
I pushed the truck out so I had more room. I cleaned and prepped the block deck surface. Then, I cleaned, prepped, and masked the block and heads for paint, primered and painted them.
With etching primer.............
.............and, with fresh paint.
I also got in some more new parts.
ECE 2" drop springs
New aluminum radiator.
Figured I better test fit the radiator. It fits!!
