Why did you go with such a low stalling converter? Just curious.

Thanks guys! As far as the suspension and drag racing, thats not entirely what this is setup for. I had this built because I was tired of the lowering kits from companies and it really putting a lot of the geometry out of whack. My truck has been hacked up with the 4-5 lowering kits I went with and now I think I have finally settled on something. The suspension is fully adjustable; firmness, smoothness, launching harder, wanting a softer ride.

As most of you know, the last time I made it out to the racetrack was last Feb. at the meets. The last time I even made it out to the late meets for some roll racing here in Austin was well over a year ago. I love driving this truck, and thats the majority this thing will see. A lot of cruising, a lot of fun, and it can be raced at the drop of a hat.

Some will say "well leaf springs are just as good for all of the above." Well yes this is true, but thats not what I wanted. I don't care about the strip, I like to roll if there is a possiblity, but I also love to drive it.

Looks good man, I'm glad you're stepping it up and wanting to go fast! Haha
aha thanks dude, I decided to get some insurance and roll with some rock solid stuff. Gotta stop nickel and diming my truck lol! But SRSLY "stock" trucks like guys on this site and other sites are a dime a dozen now. Theres nothing unique anymore about saying "my 'junkyard' engine runs this". Once the gap was bridged, and people started to see they could go fast with cheap parts, and the cheaper these engines started to become, the better it was for all. Then the luster wore off of having a junkyard setup that is cheap, go fast.

Which is why, I will never build a motor. I'll buy four or five 4.8/5.3s that would cost as much as a forged block and just run the crap out of them until they pop.

I wanted a Circle D triple disk like 3-3200. But I couldnt justify spending that extra money for a few hundred more RPMS. Not only that, but guys trying to sell used ones thought they were made of gold and they were selling them for prices that were so close to new converters. Oh well, its not like it ever really sees the drag strip anyway.

haha like I told Trick above, I'm going to have Jon probably change it after the races. I'll be deaf if I try to make it to march with how it sounds on the inside lol!

Yeah it will be at SAR, come say hey! Oh no it's not top secret. My whole rack and pinion was shot so Jon replaced that with a stock one as well. So almost all new stuff up front, it's great.

What weight spring? Is there a part number for them? Are they a bolt in deal or some modification required? Thanks

Sounds like we're trying for the same thing as far as just having a truck that can cruise along and be comfortable. Mine rides like damn stagecoach, gotta take care of that this summer.
