Have a 95 GMC Sierra and wanting to install a 04 Suburban engine 5.3 Lm7. The junkyard man tells me the engine has 4 Catalitic converters. Is this going to be a problem installing? Will it clear and fit nice?![]()

if you live in a area that doesn't do emissions testing you can delete the cats entirely or just delete two of them even and have the computer reprogrammed accordingly. The motor will fit with room to spare for sure.
Ditch the cats and get headers.

I live in California, so its all got to be there. So do you think it will fit right and look ok? I haven't seen the engine, but does it really have 4 cats? I thought they all had 2.
I would think all you need is a setup with two cats, one each side with 4 02 sensors, one before and one after each cat.

Regardless of how many it has, will it fit that truck? Will there be plenty of clearance? ( around the transmission and underneath)? I'm not sure, anybody know?

I would really like to do this project, hope somebody knows the answer to this one.
You wont need all 4 cats for our swap.just run the 2 with 2 o2 sensors and you will be fine. you can actually just keep the cats you have on the truck now if you want.
