I'd say yes.. To much axle wrap will cause wheel hop.

    slowly getting somewhere, 12.75 @ 105 1.77 60', 414rwhp/417rwtq

Cal trax are to help your 60 foots.. they help axle wrap and reduce wheel hop.. they control the rear axle... They dont help traction on the street if anything they make it worse because its much more rigid... Blown06 went 1.57 rcsb Mitch went 1.62 ecsb

Get spring clamps from Autozone for 18.00 Yes the overload being gone is why u have axle hop and also your shocks are prob no good old/wrong length/to tight/missing?

Homemade caltracs, 4/6 drop and 28x10x16 here. Best on motor was 1.77 and 1.64 with a 150 shot. Shooting for 1.5x with the Turbo setup. Stall and gears and slicks make a huge difference. It just sits and gets with the traction bars

clamping the leafs will cause it to drop some more in the rear
