    need some help here!

just getting knee deep in my lm7 swap into my 1996 2dr tahoe 4wd and even with all the reading and research there are still a few things i need clearing up...please help! ive read the obs to lsx thread about 30 times. but it gets confusing because the info jumps between the pre 96 trucks and the 96+ truck so im just a little confised on the specifics to my truck.

    1) lm7 is from a 2005 avalance with a 4l60e. do i still need a new flywheel and spacers if i have the original flywheel on the engine and bolting it up to a 1996 4l60e? (seems like a dumb question but im not quite sure)

    2) i understand that my stock fuel pump will provide enough psi to my new enigine. however what is the need for the quick connects and fuel filters and stuff? cant i just cut the stock lines and connect them to the lines on the new engine?

3)i dont have the MAF sensor from the lm7. can i use the one from the old vortec air tube?

part numbers if possible. again my truck is a 96 2 door tahoe so i have the newer vortec engine NOT tbi. alot of the advice i been getting people have been confused. i have dual fuel lines and a 4l60e trans. please help

    1. Yes, you need the flat flexplate and the crank adapter, you can get these form GM, SD or lots of other places. You may have to slot the holes to fit your 96 TC.
    2. You have the single inlet rail on the engine right? You will need a corvette filter/regulator.
    3. No, you will need the newer MAF because the IAT sensor is built into the MAF housing on the GENIII trucks and it wasn't on the 96-99 5.7L.

I was thinking someone said that you can use the spacer and longer bolts if you put the spacer on the transmission side of the flex plate. Hughes transmission also makes an extender to put on the torque convertor hub to fit to the stock flexplate.

No if both your old engine and new engine have dual fuel lines you can just hook them in and use the old filter. Make sure you're regulator up on the engine is all functional though.

Are you positive your engine is a feed return type? Because my lm7 from the same 2005 avalanche is a single line with no regulator. Anyways.. It should be round and where your feed line would go from your pump. The return would be on the passenger side and the feed and regulator both on the drivers
