I own a lot of guns, most are safe queens but I carry a XD Compact .45 and the wife carries a Ruger LCP .380.

My best gun investment so far.

We are moving next month. Anyone want to help me move this 700lb beast?

Ill bring this thread back from the dead. I bought me a new pistol today, its a .45 1911. I always wanted a 1911 so started with a rock island. going to put some rounds through it tomorrow, love the finish on it.

Let us know if it comes apart and reassembled like a Colt and if it jams or pinches....as seen on TV for a lower manufacturer.

I hear pretty much all 1911s need a break in period. Something like 1000 cycles and dry firings bc the parts are so tight brand new. Could be wrong though. I plan on adding probably a Springfield 1911 and a sig p238 and a remington 1187 to the collection after the turbo build. But for now I just have a Remington 700 7mm mag xcr for the hunting, ruger 10/22 for little things and a XDM .40 for defense

i did some research before i bought this one, and the reviews were pretty good. hopfully its as good for me. Im pretty sure its gonna jam as i read alot of 1911s jam quite often in the breakin period. ive seen brand new $900 kimbers jam, because the clearances are so tight, but once broken in they are sweet.

Yea that's what I heard too. I'm new to the pistol world so it's all new to me. Also heard to break them in with no oil
