Help me pick my swap motor and transmission

I have a 96 2 Door 2wd Tahoe that I want to put an LSX Or LQ motor in with a 4l80e.

What would be your advice on a truck or car and year to pull the motor and transmission from for this swap?

I want to put bolt ons and a cam and thats about it for the build, the more power the better (No LS7 though)

Reliability and Speed are top on my list

Towing will be very seldom, and im not concerned with mpg

Wow, one of the few not concerned with mpg. Reliability is equal among all powerplants in the Ls engine family.

The only variable left is budget. Simply put, generally, more money will buy you more power.

The most I would be willing to spend on all parts for the swap would be 12k

If I had a truck that turned 12s on street tires and suspension that I could take a road trip in I would be extremely happy
