Howdy there. i'm new here but have a feeling that this forum will be of great significance to me soon. i currently drive a chevy s10 but it simply isn't what i want anymore. it's too small and my taste for 80's model 1/2 ton gm trucks has much so increased lately. my game plan is to one day have maybe an 86 c/10 with preferably a newer 6.0L engine. has anyone else done this? what do i need to look for and how much can i expect to spend on such a swap? i thank anyone for their help.

There are a few early 80s trucks in here with the Gen3 engines. BEATERTRUCK comes mind first.

Yes it can deffinately be done! I would set aside at least $4500 for the swap but you might be able to get by cheaper. Do some reading in the conversions section and you should get most of the answers you want.
