Thread: New Year...New Engine...why not...

    hey guys,
    i have decided in my 99 ECSB 5.3 NBS truck to totally rip out the driveline and in the near future going to replace it with the LS6 with an STS turbo and a 4L80E tranny to take that extra HP...

    For the tuning can I ask allen to tune me a NEW truck PCM or can i use one from a Z06 vette??
    also will that tranny hold to the much power?? figure~~450....

    Allen can tune it, just let him know what you end up with and what internals. The 80E is near indestructible at those power levels.

    EXCELLENT!! yes i am buying a LS6 and then doing the STS..should make some nice power....what boost do you think i should run with that motor...considering its pretty high compression...??

    Guys are running 8-10 lbs of boost with an intercooler and methanol injection pulling 650 HP with most engines from the 5.3 to the 6.0. Put you some forged pistons in there and drop the compression and then you can run even more boost for more power. I'd suggest larger injectors closer to the 60 range for performance. There are a lot of guys running the STS kits on here and I don't know of anyone unhappy with the results.

    you can see what the camaro /corvette guys are running since you basically have their engine, like red said, you definitley need the intercooler and ive been told 10#s is o.k. for a stock engine and have seen guys run 12#s with intercooler and meth injection. maybe brady or billy from TRT will chime in and recommend what to run, they know what your your motor can do&#33;

    yea...i will take a gander in the vette/camaro sections to see what they say..
    what will i need transmission wise for the 4L80E swap???
