true, if you have a good traction setup with sticky tires, a quality limited slip diff and possibly traction bars like calvert racing's you can go to 4.88s and get out of the hole in a hurry. What makes our trucks so slow is the inability to get 4500+ lbs moving from a dead stop. Torque convertors help the engine rev up into the optimum power curve area and really put the power to the road during a launch, you still get the same fuel mileage at cruise when the convertor is locked.
