    KySilverado, check this TCI link out. Maybe it'll help when you ask them your questions. I think RHB has you in the right direction!

    RED you get around on here. Did you use your stock radiator? how did you mount the pcm? more to come trying to think


    what headers are you using?
    where did you take the steam line to.

    34" w/2005 Silverado fans. PCM isn't mounted anywhere yet, it's floating around on top of the intake right now with zip ties holding it down. Thinking about snagging me an f-body mount and see if it will let me mount it on the firewall in the void just over the engine. There isn't anything there anyway so it needs something to focus upon.

    Okay, the pump is just sliding in further because the notch is deeper. The notch is the driver for your trans pump. It will not affect how it works. All will be good, not an issue since it&#39;s just sliding further into the transmission only during installation. Did you have the convertor flushed or rebuilt?     The stocker with shorter notch and the Vig with deeper notch are sliding in the same amount. The converter lug to bellhousing dimension are the same on both.

    I sent the converter back to have PI check it out.

    It is going into a rebuilt FLT Level 5 tranny.

    There should be a minimum of 1/16 in. ( 1/8 in. is preferred and 1/16 in. is the minimum) clearance between the flexplate and converter to allow torque converter expansion. 3/16" is the max I&#39;d recommend but I&#39;ve seen them run with more clearance.

    Hey thanks for the link and info. I&#39;ve been all over TCI and any other site I could find reading up on the subject. I&#39;m just trying to understand the reasons for shimming and can I cause other problems by doing so. I was under the impression that this was an issue with the PI converters but I&#39;ve found that it clearanced the same as the stock verter and I don&#39;t want to screw anything up.

    I would have the converter company send you a new one on them. Is that the same converter you had the noise with in your truck? If it is and there is any probs with the old tranny because of that you can get part of your money towards your new tranny or they might even pay for the whole thing if there was serious probs with your old tranny because of the converter.

    I sent the converter back to them. They cut it open and found nothing wrong. Based upon everything I&#39;ve found since I believe them.
