    90 5.7 to swap for '03 LM4 hope to use 700R4

I am compiling a pile of parts to perform my swap but I have several unknowns or not sure-ofs...

The lm4 was dbw and I think it might be easier to wire and configure a dbc setup, am I splitting hairs? If you do the dbw option, how do you use the 700r4?

What front drive setup do I want? Is there a setup with a clutch fan that I can use that would work with the radiator shroud?

You all have done an excellent job maintaining these forums... You have answered my fuel related questions but wiring still seems complicated being my first swap with no serious guru to help firsthand.

I have opted for the trandapt motor mounts and have been looking at the tci fly wheel adapter.

The only real performance upgrade I want is the little Thumper cam from Comp.

I really want to do this right so any advice would be appreciated.

give up the 700r4. Its going to cost you more in the long run to use the 700r4. Sell it while its in good condition to offset getting a 4L80e.

Keep it as is, just make sure you get the gas pedal.
Don't use the 700r4, do what redheartbeat said. Or a 4l60e.
You can use either the ls1 or truck front set-up both of those swaps have been done using either or.
You should be able to use your same shroud, just requires a little bit of modification to it.
Good on the motor mounts, not familiar with the fly wheel adapter.

hello there, i have done the swap also in my 1992 obs. i am running a 2000 5.3 and 700r4. the 700r4 uses the tv cable to control trans pressure and shifts. if not adjusted right you will burn it up pretty quick. the only way you can run that transmission is going to drive by cable and buying the bowtieoverdrives.com throttle vale cable kit and a trans adapter spacer and flexplate. i felt i have made a mistake by going with the 700r4 due to having to mess with the transmision [alot] to get the shift points correct. due to the trans being built for the tbi, wich shift points where around 4800 to 5000rpm. the reason i went that route was due to wanting the factory speedometer gauge. but you can run the 4l60e and 4l80e and buy a Universal Speedometer Signal Interface SGI-5 at dakota digital
and run the factory speedometer. i'm sure i left alot out of this but they are right get an eletric shifted transmision and have some fun. i am going to be swapping a 4l80e in so i can run the nitrous but the 4l60e will work fine just make sure you buy a newer 4l60e with the 13 pin connector for less of a hassle. i'm not a guru at this but i just dont want anyone else wasting money or going through the headache i have went through i will be more than happy to answer any more questions i hope this was helpful.
