    Okay, thanks guys. Think I'll buy it this weekend and give it a try. Also going to be throwing on a Magnaflow Catback system later on this summer, should sound pretty good from what I've heard from others

    I'm using an Airaid M.I.T. (intake tube), and an oem style K&N in the factory air-box on my 2004 Silverado 5.3L. I removed the support plate that is mounted under the air-box, and also cut out a portion of the bottom of the air-box for a homemade "ram-air". I got the "ram-air" mod from rel3rd on pt.net

    As seen from underneath...

    * 2004 Chevrolet CCSB Z-71 5.3L * G80, 3.73's * Black Bear Autocal 91 oct tune * Magnaflow 3" SI/SO 14" case * Airaid M.I.T. * OEM airbox with open air modification * Color matched grille & lower valence * Blackened Tail Lights * SuperBright LEDs in brake lights & reverse lights *

    In the garage to be installed: 799 heads, Dyna-Tech long tube headers, Corvette servo, 2" lowering shackles, 2wd u-bolts & bumpstops

    Spectre ftw. This mod is so overrated unless youre making real power anyways, so keep it as cheap as possible. Spend that $100 towards a used low mileage cam imo

    If I remember right you're from my neck of the woods. So don't spend the money on the cat-back since we get raped on everything. Go to a decent exhaust shop and have them make you up a 3" midpipe and whatever muffler you want. It'll be a lot cheaper.

    I just pieced one together from siliconeintakes.com. I 90'd it down in front of the pass tire and threw a k&n on it. I think I was into it a little under $200. It's 4" aluminum pipe.

    I also used siliconeintakes.com for the rubber connectors used in my homemade 4" CAI. I retained the stock airbox though, since after modifying it, it's proven itself to work just fine in datalogs.

    I do have an LS1 electric fan setup though...Well under $100 total investment for the CAI.
