If the crank hangs out of the seal about 1/2" you have the 1999-2001 early style 6L and you will have to slot the bolt holes on a flat Gen3 flexplate or drill new holes.
I had the dished flexplate and spacer on there first and the hub of the converter was supported by the spacer and bottomed out before bellhousing touched. But that got me thinking maybe the dished flexplate without the spacer will work? Is that possible? And thanks for your help guys I'm ready to get this goin!

Ok guys I done some calling around to a dew shops and figured out the problem. I didn't know this but the trail blazer converter won't work with my early lt style transmission the input shaft is set up differently I believe. So trail blazer converter is for sale cheap and a circle d converter for my tranny will hopefully get ordered this week and things will be back to rolling!

Yes sir you will need a crank spacer. I got mine off eBay, you can also order them through gm. As for the wiring, I'm not sure yet. My motor/tranny is going in today and I'll be starting all the wiring this week. Hot wire auto worked the factory harness that I had. I think most people on this site would recommend getting a harness from nelson. Hope this helps, I will be posting everything I can and also pics if I am able within the week

yah that's gonna be a little weird getting the trans to mate to the block, but as you know the six liter came with a 4l60 (or 4l65 or 70 or whatever, same basic unit)
    in the denali and escalades.
i don't remember if they use a dished flexplate or not... sorry.

how much progress have you made so far in the swap?

I got the motor/tranny all situated and my Circle d converter came in! Other progress motor and transmission are in, transfer case back on, and I will start wiring this week. One thing holding me up is I think I got the wrong oil pressure sender adapter from S&P, i'll have to call them tomorrow. after i get that in i'lll be able to put the intake and harness on. I have a few pics but im trying to find my memory card adapter for my android.

So i am no wiring guru by any means... That being said, I have a couple questions.
My factory computer will still control my transfer case and engage the front end right?? And for the big switched power wire off my stand alone harness Which wire off the truck did you guys use to hook that to?

well if all the standalone needs is a switched 12v signal to some relays, you could use pretty much any pink wire you come across, I would think.
pink in GM vehicles usually means 12v switched...looks towards the fuse box under the hood on the drivers side, it will give you a good idea as to where to tap in.
Now, obviously the batt feed to that harness needs to be healthy....but you said 'switched' which means all it needs to do is switch some relays. no sweat

leave the 4x4 stuff alone imo (make sure it's still powered and works). that stuff is independent of the engine wiring, i think. plus I'm not sure what year your truck is but I think most TBI computers didn't account for 4 lo when calculating for Vss so no big deal. at least that was how it was with my ol 7747 computer

The truck is a 95, and the harness just has a constant hot wire, a switched hot, and the just the grounds I think. So what do I do with the vss to make my speedo work? And cruise control?
Thanks alot for all you help

I was just helpin my buddy throw a 489 into his 95 2 door today and I think, based on what I saw with the cruise control stuff (on his and my trucks), you should be good as it is.
My impression is that the 0411 doesn't REALLY need to know about cruise control...I mean it's just a mechanically controlled throttle cable that is controlled by a motor which leads from the switch on the column...
if you're doin 70 with the gas pedal alone which pulls on the throttle, why would the computer need to know about it?? the cruise will disengage with the brake pedal, which is part of the chassis harness.

    the 4 lo thing.
if you wire your 0411 to feed the cluster through the DRAC, all you need to do is wire in the 4lo switch's signal to the computer on C2 red 16 with a ground. that will tell the 0411 to feed your cluster with the right data...
now, in my case, since the cluster doesn't HAVE a 4k ppm feed in, the cluster is getting it's data straight from the VSS sensor. it doesn't know the 0411 exists, so MY 4lo (displayed on the cluster) will be screwed up. More importantly, my 0411 will know it's in 4lo and therefore the 4l80, 0411 will compare and be happy. I don't really care about MPH in 4lo anyway
