Hptuners worth it?

Worth. Every. Penny. I don't have to wait on anybody else, I don't have to pay anybody else, I'm a lot more knowledgeable having learned to do it myself. And best of all my cable has nearly paid for itself doing other peoples vehicles.

But the learning is not that easy, and most people, even pro tuners learn something new every time.

You have to give it time and patience.

BASIC things...easy. Tuning diferent setups.....well lets say you can do some mathwork formulas in excel, but you wont be a pro accountant !

what's the easiest DIY tuner software to use? i'm gonna get an econo tune in october after i get my srb payment and do get headers installed and a muffler swapped out, intake ducting, and port my tb. i was thinking of going with black bear

If I am correct black bear is a tuner that uses either efi live or hptuners. And u have fanatics of both software. Around here weapon of choice is hptuners for the most part.

Sorry to thread jack but is there anywhere to get it on the cheap I know used is always great but nothing is as great as new....... I know some places do it like 480 instead of 500 any place got it cheaper?

sorry an actual copy of hptuners software and cable. Also any good reason to get pro over normal? I know you can lock the tunes(i don't care about this) and you can hook up other devices like widebands but are you not able to use a wideband at all with the normal version?

The pro box has 0-5v inputs, you need these to hook in a wideband.

wow, after looking at the prices i might just have black bear do mine straight up. with my commute i don't need to be messing around with the tables too much and end up dragging my mileage down. that and i wanna have my AIR system tuned out and probably the rear o2s since the ebay LTs tend to mess with the rear o2s

Maybe is worth it for those guys that have more than one vehicle to play.......or for the amateur that never stop adding and modding the ride !

For an one night stand....you prob are better with Black bear or any other mail tune.

May I ask why Black Bear, and not any other? (I.e. Trifecta, Nelson Performance, ect)

because on my primary forum, 67-72chevytrucks.com, a couple guys over there recommended them to a different board member and i have read their site and would feel comfortable with them doing it, since they send you the autotune, collect the data from it, make the changes needed, and then offer adjustments as needed
