The 224 is a nice cam and will pull great from 2800rpms to 6500rpms.
To take advantage of the cam, you'll definitely need a tune. If not, your truck will be shifting at the stock rpms, idle will be fussy, and the truck will down on power.
Plus, you'll need a tune to take care of vats, accessories, etc.
Expect about 50hp at the flywheel from that cam in a stock 6L.
