hey i just joined the site and was wondering how the swap was going. I also have a 95 Z71 and im wondering if it would be worth it to put a ls1 or ls2 in it.

Hey man welcome to the site. I would have had the motor/tranny in this last weekend but I forgot to order the standard length flywheel bolts. I had the long bolts with the spacer to mate to a th350 converter. So I'll hopefully have the bolts in by this coming weekend and I'll get it all in and start the hard work lol. But to answer your question, I'm not even close to done with the swap and I can tell you yes the swap will be worth it!

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!! An update: I have been trying to mate the motor/tranny, and I am using my 95 transmission. I have a trail blazer torque converter. At first I had A dished flywheel and the spacer on the motor bc it was mated to a turbo 350. well I took the spacer off and put the dished flywheel on and the flywheel met the torque converter, and there was still probably a half inch between the bell housing and the motor. So I thought I figure I needed a flat flywheel, so I traded a buddy for a flat flywheel off of a 5.3. And put the flywheel on the motor and it was very close to the back of the engine, and it was actually pushing back on the starter. What is going on and what flywheel/starter do I need?? Any input is appreciated, I am without a vehicle and need my pickup going asap

Are you sure that your TQ converter is engaged completely?
