Stock converter or aftermarket?

I was wondering if I can use my stock torque converter on my mild build. It's a 2003 5.3, 4l60e truck engine going in a 1990 gmc 1/2 ton ext cab short bed. All I'm doing to the engine is a ls1 intake and a lq9 cam. Other than that its all stock. I believe they used that cam in the 2002 vette and the 04 to 07 245 hp escalade. Thanks.

Yeah I would leave a stock converter in there.

Whew, you just saved me some $$$. Thanks a bunch. I'm just looking for a bit more power and maybe some fuel economy if thats possible. I don't know how much more hp I'll gain,even though the stock 285 hp would be fine. I like the looks of that manifold sitting there! Thanks again.

Get a trans brake
