OK. I've been researching various diagrams of the PCM and transmission. If I use the blue side of the PCM and tie the #72 and 34 together and ground them, am I correct in thinking it will make the PCM read that the transmission is set to neutral (or was it park?). Either way, that is what I need...a "P" or "N".

    Thanks

I kind of remembered you're interested in doing the 80e, if you don't have the harness and ls pcm and etc.

I just ran into this in the latest GM HighTech Mag.

    Allen,

I have a manual transmission now. The shift indicator reverted to "drive" (I'm not sure when it happened), and I need to read a "park" or 'Neutral" to engage "4LO". I've emailed the guy that did my build, and he doesn't think he cut the P/NP harness off, but doesn't remember what he did with it. I've taken the dash apart to see if it is tucked in there, but haven't been able to locate it. Thanks for the link to the trans controller, though...but it won't help my situation.

Well dude I don't know what you did to your truck but I did find out what causes that, because I have a 4.3 truck doing a v8 swap on and I had seen it happen to alot of guys doing that swap. I fugured out that the 4.3 uses a two wire alternator and some of the v8's use a one wire alternator, read some schematics!

The shift indicator should be easy enough to fake out. If the PRDNL switch is still there, you can just leave the switch intact and put the switch in park, or just short the two wires together.
I think it's just a simple logic wire wiring combination that tells the ipc what gear it's in.

I believe that battery flashing light can be turned off in the pcm.

    Hey allen<
How much are those 60e to 80e adapters for returning customers? Also is that all I need electronically besideds a retune on my pcm?
What trans company would you go with PATC, FinishLine, Monster, Performabuilt, Hughes?
If I can't come up with the money fro a built trans, I'll probably just go with a used unit and through a shift kit in it. the stock 4l80e should be able to handle about 450rwhp for a while right?

If you have a classice 07, then you'll need one, they are $89.
The nbs requires a repin, we don't offer a harness for the nbs.
No comment on the above transmission choices, we would prefer a low mileage 80e with a shiftkit at your trucks power level.

    So I won't need aone then because I have a nnbs 2007?
Also I am confused on which 4l80e will work. I have heard that the only one that will work has a bolt hole on top. Is that true? I found a 99 4l80e but it doesn't have a bolt hole so I'm in a pickle here.
    Thanks Allen.

    Hey Allen,
According to the link below "The 4L80E requires a speed sensor, which the 4L60E doesn't have. This is where the new speed sensor harness comes into play. It carries the signal from the speed sensor to the truck's ECM. One end simply plugs into the speed sensor as shown here. Quick question for you guys with the 60E to 80E swap on a ccsb. Is the crossmember mod necessary on these too or is it just on reg cab and ext cabs?
