    The date... look at it...

To answer your question, he is building his NNBS (07-11) TRUCK, not the van which he picked up to use as a daily driver. To answer your other question, to my knowledge the Astro/Safari has always come with a 4.3, but the Express/Savana has had about every LS motor combination at some point (4.3,4.8,5.3,6.0,8.1, and even a D-Max I believe).

Sounds like a cool build, Why not use a factory 14 bolt rear end setup? instead of the 12 bolt... 14 bolts are very strong and will basically swap right in..

As a GM parts guy I was pretty sure that they never put a 4.8 in a M van. Guess I just didnt read close enough....

have you thought about boreing the 4.8 to a ls1 bore but keeping the 4.8 crank? this way you get some extra cubes and can still spin the piss out of it. im thinking of doing this to my back up motor instead of a iron 5.7. you also get alot bigger piston selection although idk where you can find a forged 4.8 rod... unless you want to keep stock
