I have read the stickys and used the search some but havent found exactly what i'm looking for yet i guess. I was just hoping i could get confirmation

Hey guys just giving you an update. I sold my 79 camaro and funds for the swap are in hand! I have done alot of reading and am in the process of making a shopping list. I already have a harness i bought off ebay a while back, if i remember right the guy said it was a hot rod lane harness? It came with a computer with vats deleted and set up for a 5.3, but some of the labels on the wires came off so maybe i can get some help from em. I think i an going to get the dirty dingo truck mounts, and for fueling a corvette filter setup like in the sticky with a walbro 255. Any word on if NITROUS has the header to fit my truck? i remember reading an older post that he was working on some. I will continue to update and will post pics later, any input or suggestions is appreciated! -Josh

A few pics of the 6.0! First one is when I picked up the motor in dallas. Came out of a 2004 3/4 ton Chevy rail road truck with 110k miles. I took a peek inside and everything was actually clean and looked to be in good shape.
The other picks are after some clean up and paint and The last is my wiring harness which still needs a little work.. Oh yeah and i won't be using the moroso fabricated pan i'll be using a truck pan so if you know anyone wanting one let me know! its the hot rod one made for ls motors in older cars.

Hey Josh, I've read your post a few times. Nice clean truck your working with. You had asked me about gauges. We had all of the gauges except the tach in my dad's 95 working. Then one day the speedo just quit. Not sure if it burnt up or what, but had good clean signal all the way to it. We are in the middle of doing a custom gauge package from Dolphin gauges in that 95 right now. It comes with its own sending units and shipped to my house for right around $275.

    Have you looked here? http://www.lt1swap.com/index.htm

Here is the swap thread on my dad's truck. http://www.performancetrucks.net/for...ght=Dad%27s+95

Lots of good info in the wiring section, he talks about tach wiring as well as using the Truck fuse blocks

Hi I have a question for you because i keep getting different information. You used the original 1995 4l60e trans when you did this swap? I want to do the 5.3 swap and was unsure if the 95 trans would work right. I figured I would ask you because you did the swap and know first hand. Does everything work with the transmssion like everything shift right and everything? Thanks in advance for any hel you can give.

hey i just joined the site and was wondering how the swap was going. I also have a 95 Z71 and im wondering if it would be worth it to put a ls1 or ls2 in it.

Hey man welcome to the site. I would have had the motor/tranny in this last weekend but I forgot to order the standard length flywheel bolts. I had the long bolts with the spacer to mate to a th350 converter. So I'll hopefully have the bolts in by this coming weekend and I'll get it all in and start the hard work lol. But to answer your question, I'm not even close to done with the swap and I can tell you yes the swap will be worth it!
