there was a whole big lawsuit with the black ops. the main 2 guys that made the MW and MW2 got fired out of no where and they sued actavision for writes and all that non sense. So thats partially why BO is so different then the MW's. But the two guys that got the boot said they are going to make a game to blow COD away and then retire from making games, kinda like one last freak you before they leave the gaming scene.

I recently read that IW will be switching on and off with Treyarch under the Call of Duty name, each making a game every other year.
