That white plastic insert comes out with a pry with a screw driver. It only has two tabs that keep it in place. Take the borgensen bolt out to drop it out of the way. I wrapped two layers of electrician tape around the end that sticks out. There are small plastic ribs that wear out to keep it tight. The tape makes it tight again, no more knocks.
